    About the Olive Shell Abrasive

Olive shell abrasive is made from olive pits. It is harder and more wear-resistant than walnut shell. This makes it the best choice for rough grinding and early surface prep in Guangu Tech mirror polishing machines (GG9024 and GG9032).

Because olive shell is harder, it cuts faster and holds its shape longer. During the rough grinding stage, the goal is to remove machining marks, tool lines, and surface bumps. Olive shell does this quickly before you switch to a softer media like walnut shell for fine polishing.

You use olive shell with polishing oil or wax. The starting ratio is about 25 parts abrasive to 1 part paste. Add more paste as needed based on your results. Cycle times range from a few hours for soft metals to many hours for hard metals like stainless steel.

Eleven sizes are available, from 1# to 14#. This covers coarse rough grinding all the way to medium-fine prep. The material is natural, eco-friendly, and biodegradable. There are no chemical disposal worries.
